O Antiphons ~Invoking Christ's Great Messianic titles👉 ERO CRAS!!!
Alexandra Clark | The Daily Knight
Dear Faithful, Have you ever heard of "Ero Cras?" In the old image above you can see it is spelled out along with each having a scene of what the letter symbolizes.
Beginning today, the 17th of December, the Church commences the “Great O Antiphons.” These seven "O Antiphons" (also called the "Greater Antiphons" or "Major Antiphons") are prayers that come from the Breviary's Vespers during the Octave before Christmas Eve, a time which is called the "Golden Nights." We call upon Our dear Lord, begging Him to hasten quickly, to come to save us and to be with us, by invoking a number of His great Messianic titles, starting with Today Dec. 17th: 17th - O Sapientia (O Wisdom) Listen here: https://youtu.be/YnM2U78ACNA 18th - O Adonai (O Lord) 19th - O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse) 20th - O Clavis David (O Key of David) 21st - O Oriens (O Rising Sun) 22nd - O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations) 23rd - O Emmanuel (O God with us) If one starts with the final Messianic title and takes the first letter after the O, the Latin words ERO CRAS are formed, meaning, “Tomorrow, I will come.” Thus, ending the great O Antiphons on Christmas Eve the day before Christ come on Christ-Mass! What a beautiful message for us! Let us pray with the Church at this time in joyful expectation of the remembrance of Christ's Birth and His rebirth into our hearts by the Holy Eucharist in the mystery of Christ renewing His Holy Birth in every Holy Mass as you can read here.
