VICTRICISSIMI CORDIS IESV
DEVOTION TO THE MOST VICTORIOUS HEART OF JESUS
Inspired by the devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (Sacratissimum Cor Jesv) and our Lord's victory over Hell, Death, and Sin, our Knights offer a special devotion to the Most Victorious Heart of Jesus.
To The Sacred Heart

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore Thee, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer Thee this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Thy will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in Thee and for Thee. Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions; give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Thy blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
Indulgence of 500 days. (263)
To The Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist

O most Sacred, most loving Heart of Jesus, Thou art concealed in the Holy Eucharist, and Thou beatest for us still. Now as then Thou sayest, Desiderio desideravi- "With desire I have desired." I worship Thee then with all my best love and awe, with my fervent affection, with my most subdued, most resolved will. O my God, when Thou dost condescend to allow me to receive Thee, to eat and drink Thee, and Thou for a while dost take up Thy abode within me, O make my heart beat with Thy Heart. Purify it of all that is earthly, all that is proud and sensual, all that is hard and cruel, of all perversity, of all disorder, of all deadness. So fill it with Thee that neither the events of the day nor the circumstances of the time may have power to ruffle it, but that in Thy love and Thy fear it may have peace.
Cardinal Newman

Amen.
Act of Consecration

I, N_____ N_____, give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being save to honor, love, and glorify the Sacred Heart!
This is my unchanging purpose, namely, to be all His, and to do all things for the love of Him, at the same time renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to Him.
I therefore take Thee, O Sacred Heart, to be the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, my assurance of salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life, and my sure refuge at the hour of death.
Be then, O Heart of goodness, my justification before God Thy Father, and turn away from me the strokes of His righteous anger. O Heart of love, I put all my confidence in Thee, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty, but I hope for all things from Thy goodness and bounty.
Do Thou consume in me all that can displease Thee or resist Thy holy will; let I shall nevermore be able to forget Thee or to be separated from Thee; may I obtain from all Thy loving kindness the grace of having my name written in Thee, for in Thee I desire to place all my happiness and all my glory, living and dying in very bondage to Thee.
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque
Indulgence of three years; plenary indulgence once a month on the usual conditions for the daily devout recitation of this act of consecration. (258)
Saint James the Greater

Saint James the Greater, son of Zebedee and brother of Saint John, was one of the Apostles particularly close to the heart of Christ. He was one of the three who witnessed the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Thabor, and His agony in Gethsemane, Christ foretold his martyrdom, which took place under Herod Agrippa (41-44 A.D.).

O glorious Apostle, Saint James, who by reason of Thy fervent and generous heart wast chosen by Jesus to be a witness of His glory on Mount Thabor, and of His agony in Gethsemane; thou, whose very name is a symbol of warfare and victory: obtain for us strength and consolation in the unending warfare of this life, that, having constantly and generously followed Jesus, we may be victors in the strife and deserve to receive the victor's crown in heaven. Amen.
Indulgence of 300 days; plenary indulgence once a month, on the usual conditions, for daily devout recitation of this prayer. (489)
The Sacred Heart

"From among all the proofs of the infinite goodness of our Savior none stands out more prominently than the fact that, as the love of the faithful grew cold, He, Divine Love Itself, gave Himself to us to be honored by a very special devotion and that the rich treasury of the Church was thrown wide open in the interests of that devotion." These words of Pope Pius XI refer to the Sacred Heart Devotion, which in its present form dates from the revelations given to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1673-75.
The devotion consists in the divine worship of the human heart of Christ, which is united to His divinity and which is a symbol of His love for us. The aim of the devotion is to make our Lord king over our hearts by prompting them to return love to Him (especially through an act of consecration by which we offer to the Heart of Jesus both ourselves and all that belongs to us) and to make reparation for our ingratitude to God.

O Heart of love, I put all my trust in Thee; for I fear all things from my own weakness, but I hope for all things from Thy Goodness.
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque
Indulgence of 300 days; plenary indulgence once a month, on the usual conditions, if this invocation is repeated daily with devotion. (232)

Prayer To The Sacred Heart

"Devotion to the Sacred Heart was the characteristic note of the piety of Saint Gertrude the Great (1256-1302), Benedictine nun and renowned mystic. She was, in fact, the first great exponent of the devotion to the Sacred Heart. In our efforts to honor the Heart of Jesus we have this prayer as a model for our own."

Hail! O Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and quickening source of eternal life, infinite treasure of the Divinity, and burning furnace of divine love. Thou art my refuge and my sanctuary, O my amiable Savior. Consume my heart with that burning fire with which Thine is ever inflamed. Pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Thy love, and let my heart be so united with Thine, that our wills may be one, and mine in all tings be conformed to Thine. May Thy divine will be equally the standard and rule of all my desires and of all my actions. Amen.
Saint Gertrude
Morning Offering

O Jesus! Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer Thee my prayers, works, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Thy Sacred Heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparations of my sins, for the intentions of all our associates, and in particular, for the intention recommended this month by the Holy Father.
I wish to gain all the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say and to the good works I shall perform this day.
For a Pure Heart

May our hearts be cleansed, O Lord, by the inpouring of the Holy Spirit, and may He render them fruitful by watering them with His heavenly dew.
Roman Missal
Indulgence of 500 days; plenary indulgence on the usual conditions for the daily recital of this invocation for a month. (281)

For a Visit to the Blessed Sacrament

Jesus Christ, my Lord and my God, whom I believe to be really present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar, receive this most profound act of adoration to supply for the desire I have to adore Thee unceasingly, and in thanksgiving for the sentiments of love which Thy Sacred Heart has for me in this sacrament. I cannot better acknowledge them than by offering Thee all the acts of adoration, resignation, patience, and love which this same Heart has made during Its mortal life, and which It makes still and which it shall make eternally in heaven, in order that through it I may love Thee, praise Thee, and adore Thee worthily as much as it is possible for me. I unite myself to this divine offering which Thou dost make to Thy divine Father, and I consecrate to Thee my whole being, praying Thee to destroy in me all sin and not to permit that I should be separated from Thee eternally. Amen.
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things and I desire Thee in my soul. Since I cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though Thou wert already there, I embrace Thee and unite myself wholly to Thee; permit not that I should ever be separated from Thee.
Saint Alphonsus Liguori

At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and I offer Thee the repentance of my contrite heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of sacramental Communion, I wish possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! My Thy love inflame my whole being in life and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen.
Cardinal Merry del Val
To the faithful who make an act of spiritual Communion, using any formula they may choose, there is granted: an indulgence of 3 years; a plenary indulgence once a month on the usual conditions when the act is performed every day of the month. (164)
For The Church

A Prayer of Trust

O God, who didst in wondrous manner reveal to the virgin, Margaret Mary, the unsearchable riches of Thy Heart, grant that loving Thee, after her example, in all things and above all things, we may in Thy Heart find our abiding home.
Roman Missal

Act of Love

Reveal Thy Sacred Heart to me, O Jesus, and show me Its attractions. Unite me to It for ever. Grant that all my aspirations and all the beats of my heart, which cease not even while I sleep, may be a testimonial to Thee: Yes, Lord, I am all Thine; the pledge of my allegiance to Thee rests ever in my heart and will never cease to be there. Do Thou accept the slight amount of good that I do and be graciously pleased to repair all my wrong-doing; so that I may be able to bless Thee in time and in eternity. Amen.
Cardinal Merry del Val
Indulgence of 500 days; plenary indulgence on the usual conditions, if this prayer is recited daily for a month. (267)

Memorare to the Sacred Heart

Remember, O most sweet Jesus, that no one who has had recourse to Thy Sacred Heart, implored Its help, or sought Its mercy was ever abandoned. Encouraged with confidence, O tenderest of hearts, we present ourselves before Thee, crushed beneath the weight of our sins. In our misery, O Sacred Heart of Jesus, despise not our simple prayers, but mercifully grant our requests.

* The faithful who devoutly take part in public services in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the month of June (or some other month, according to the prudent judgement of the Most Reverent Ordinary) may gain: an indulgence of 10 years on any day of the month; plenary indulgence if they are present at these services on at least 10 days of the month and, in addition, make their confession, receive Holy Communion and pray for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff.
Those who perform their devotions privately during such a month may gain: an indulgence of 7 years once on any day of the month; plenary indulgence on the usual conditions, provided that they perform these devotions daily throughout the month and are lawfully excused from taking part in public exercises where the latter are held. (253)
Prayer Before a Crucifix

Behold, O good and sweetest Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee to impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope, and charity, true repentance for my sins, and a most firm purpose of amendment: whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I consider within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five wounds, having before my eyes that which David, the prophet, long ago spoke in Thine own person concerning Thee, my Jesus: "They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have numbered all my bones."
The faithful who recite this prayer devoutly before an image of Jesus Christ Crucified, may gain: an indulgence of 10 years; a plenary indulgence if, moreover, they go to confession, receive Holy Communion and pray for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff. (201)
