An unpublished encyclical of Pope Pius XII that was signed just before his death has been discovered in the Vatican archives. John Henry Westen of LifeSiteNews reports:
“Researchers working in the Vatican archives recently made an astounding discovery. Working through newly opened files they found the text of an unpublished encyclical which had been prepared on the instructions of Pope Pius XII.”
Titled, Cultum Regi Regum or Worship of the King of Kings, the encyclical was intended to be a decisive rejection of the errors of modernism and a call for man to return to the worship of God. It warned of the upcoming changes to the Mass and the enemy plan to introduce the errors of humanism, ecumenism, moral relativism, calling the Mass a meal and not a sacrifice, denying the procreative purpose of marriage, and denying that Christ is King over tongues and nations. Every one of these errors were exposed and condemned by Pius XII in 1958, which was only three years before Vatican II convened. The pope saw what was coming upon the Church.
Encyclical Could Have Stopped the Errors of Vatican II
Had the encyclical been released before the Council it would have placed the Church on guard against its errors and would have likely changed the course of the Council and that of modern Church history. Every indication is that the Church’s enemies buried the encyclical against the Holy Father’s order to release it. It appears they then “laid him low” to prevent the encyclical from interfering with the conciliar plan to introduce modernism and change to the Church.
Note: When the full text of the encyclical becomes available it will be added to this article.
