LGBTQ Agenda Will Not be a Priority in Rome?

In these days of apostasy when we see the agents of darkness prancing through the Vatican in all their rainbow regalia, we need to beware of the slithering speech of certain Vatican officials.

On April 23, Pope Leo XIV addressed reporters aboard the papal plane returning from his 11-day Africa tour. He spoke for several minutes saying that the priestly blessing of homosexual couples will not be a priority in the future. By this, he was not saying that the Vatican will diminish its respect for LGBTQ living but was simply saying the issue is now established and set to continue so that there no longer is a need to prioritize its promotion.

Some see Leo’s words as a subtle attempt to begin reversing pro-LGBTQ attitudes in the Church, but it rather appears that his words are a subtle attempt to tone down conservative opposition by giving conservatives a false hope that LGBTQ is slowly on its way out.

Leo Supports Francis’ LGBTQ Agenda

Leo said he will not formalize blessings for same-sex couples beyond what Pope Francis advocated in 2023, which only proves that he agrees with Francis’ blessing of homosexuality, but then he tries to ward off criticism against it by saying,

“We tend to think that when the Church is talking about morality, that the only issue of morality is sexual. And in reality, I believe there are much greater, more important issues, such as justice, equality, freedom of men and women, freedom of religion, that would all take priority before that particular issue.”

This comes off as a slithering attempt to shield homosexuality from criticism. It suggests that we shouldn’t be obsessed about stopping LGBTQ but should relax about it and pay attention to “more important issues” like women deacons and synodality that still need to be officially established. The fact that Leo doesn’t ax LGBTQ raises serious red flags. He is denying that stopping LGBTQ is top priority in the Church because it is destroying the Church more than any other single crime.

Leo has repeatedly said that Francis’ LGBTQ agenda will continue with no regrets or attempts to reverse it. He has made it clear that he backs Francis’ push for LGBTQ inclusion and that he will carry this agenda forward, indicating that he sees LGBTQ inclusion as a priority.

Leo Needs to Prove Himself

Some will retort by quoting Leo as saying that he does not approve LGBTQ living, but he needs to prove himself. He needs to condemn and disavow the infamous 2023 Vatican document Fiducia Supplicans that promotes the priestly blessing of LGBTQ couples and their immoral behavior.

And too, he needs to excommunicate and condemn the work of Fr. James Martin who has spent his career promoting homosexuality in the Church. In a private audience at the Vatican on September 1, 2025, Leo met with Martin to show support for his work to promote LGBTQ inclusion in the Church. All reports indicate that it was a cordial meeting of minds on the issue of homosexuality.

Approved Catholic Mystic Prophesied the Present Crisis

Those hoping for a reversal of Leo’s policy will sometimes quote the approved Catholic mystic Marie Julie Jahenny (1850-1941) as saying there would come a pope who would make a turn around and appeal to the bishops to follow his lead in restoring tradition to the Church. She said that this pope would be booed and ousted by the bishops, but this prophecy was fulfilled with Pope Benedict XVI. Benedict while a cardinal displayed some heretical tendencies at Vatican II, after which he made a turn around and appealed to the clergy to restore tradition. As pope, he continued all the more to appeal to the bishops for amendment after which he was booed and forced off the Chair of Peter so that they could install their Marxist puppet instead.

Some might argue that Leo could still make a turn around and propose a reform of the Church where he forbids Communion in the hand, Eucharistic ministers, women lectors, and LGBTQ inclusion, but this remains to be seen. Every indication is that this will never happen until a new pope is appointed.

The La Salette Prophecy About Two Worm-Ridden Popes

Let us not forget the prophecy of Our Lady at La Sallete (1846) concerning “two worm ridden popes” to come. This coincides with the prophecy of Marie Julie Jahenny who spoke of two consecutive antipopes to come. In a video interview with LifeSite CEO John Henry Westen, La Salette expert Xavier Reyes-Ayral speaks of Jahenny’s prophecy.

Marie-Julie Jahenny … stated that there would come two popes, one that would follow the other, that would lead the Church in a false direction,” the author said. “And this would only confirm what, a few decades before, the Virgin Mary revealed to Mélanie Calvat in La Salette.”

In the interview, Ayral noted that there have been numerous apparitions and mystics that have revealed this prophecy, and he too points out that the La Sallete message spoke of “two worm-ridden popes.”

“The Blessed Virgin Mary, amongst so many other shocking revelations, stated that the day would come when there would be ‘deux papes vermollus’ in French, which in English…  translates as ‘two worm-ridden popes’ succeeding one or the other,” he said.

Since the “election” of Francis in 2013, the Mystical Body has had the wind knocked out of it by a continual beating of heresy and LGBTQ profanity that Leo has supported, so is Leo really up to turning all this around?
