Leo Calls for a “Shift in Mindset” that Places “Interreligious Dialogue” over Catholic Truth

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the conciliar document Nostra Aetate, Leo XIV in union with three Vatican dicasteries has issued a new document formally endorsing interreligious dialogue and the fraternal unity of all religions. This defies Church teaching since Interreligious union is held by the Church’s Magisterium to be heretical, so the fact that Leo has formally endorsed this through a Vatican document seemingly constitutes an act of formal heresy.

Titled Sixty Years of Interreligious Dialogue and Fraternity in the Light of the Conciliar Declaration Nostra Aetate, the September 16 document marks a major rupture from the Faith since it is grounded in Nostra Aetate, which denies the Church’s mission to convert Jews and members of other religions. Nostra Aetate is all about uniting the Catholic Church with other world religions—an error that all the popes and bishops of Church history have condemned.

Nostra Aetate Was Penned by a Homosexual

We must not forget that Nostra Aetate was drafted in 1964 by homosexual ex-priest, Gregory Baum, who rejected Catholic teaching and who from 1964 on was living a steady homosexual life. He later left the priesthood while continuing his LGBTQ activism in the Church. Why is Rome dignifying his rot?   

The September 16 document goes so far as to say that a “shift of mindset” is now needed to give place to interreligious dialogue, but who ever said that we are called to dialogue with world religions? The Church’s mission is to convert the world, not to exchange ideas with it. As Christ told his disciples,

"All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” (Mt. 28: 18-20)

Clearly, we see that the Church's mission is to bring the knowledge of God to all peoples that they might leave their particular ideologies and be baptized Catholic. It's all about leaving human ways and following Christ’s way.  

Leo and his wayward village disagree. The document says that the Church's duty is to "dialogue" with other religions, but Christ never said this nor has any true Catholic prelate of history taught such a thing. Never once did Christ dialogue with the people but he corrected and instructed them, whereupon he enjoined upon his clergy the solemn duty of executing this cause through their priestly office.

A Closer Look at the Document

This new Vatican document is loaded with errors. In paragraph 22 it erroneously states that people who “insist exclusively on the obligation to proclaim Christ” are “tempted” to do this. So all the popes, bishops, priests, and laity throughout history were “tempted” to be Catholic? The same paragraph states that “Nostra Aetate also affirms the necessity of dialogue with other religious traditions, since such dialogue is now ‘a part of the Church’s evangelizing mission,’” but who ever said that dialogue is part of the Church’s evangelizing mission? Certainly not Christ.

For reasons discussed above, Nostra Aetate is not a valid ecclesial declaration, 1 which means the clergy should reject it lest they incur the guilt of heresy. The document says that Jews do not need conversion to Christ because they already have their own covenant with God, but this is heresy. Their covenant with God can only come about by accepting Christ, not by awaiting the false messiah of the New World Order. 

Continuing:

“Dialogue, therefore, presupposes… a genuine openness to otherness, which is an indispensable condition for coexistence within pluralistic societies.” Who ever said that we’re supposed to coexist with other religions? That’s manmade rubbish, not Gospel truth.

While paragraph 22 does include some fragments of Faith—and for deceptive reasons at that— paragraph 32 avoids Catholicism altogether. It recommends that the Church undertake a compromising “middle path [of compromising Catholicism], which is demanding yet fruitful: the path of patiently building human fraternity.”

Since when did Christ preach “human fraternity?” This sounds Masonic. What Rome is preaching today is secular humanism, not the Christian Faith. The document stresses the importance of “a universal criterion of discernment that can be found in the sacred texts of the various religions,” but who ever said that the texts of various religions are “sacred?” Since when do they contain the discernment of truth? These texts reject Catholic truth, i.e. texts of the Quran, texts of Protestantism, etc. The document says that “Concrete concern for the most vulnerable is the essential measure by which the integrity of every project—whether political, economic, social, academic, religious, or cultural—must be judged.”

Amen. Today’s Vatican must be judged since it ignores the “most vulnerable” of this world by refusing to convert them and it persecutes and maligns the most humble of Christ’s Church – the tradition-minded Catholics who gratefully hold to all that Christ gave them, especially the Traditional Latin Mass.

Leo Says a Shift of Mindset is Needed in the Church

Paragraph 54 tells us that we must abandon our determination to adhere to and defend the truths of the Catholic Faith:

“To achieve this goal [of universal dialogue], a genuine shift in mindset is necessary: abandoning the logic of defensiveness, hostility, or conquest in order to adopt an attitude that is open, benevolent, and courageous. Monolithic and isolated models, which encourage a closed view of reality, are proving increasingly inadequate.”

So Catholicism is now “inadequate” in the salvation of souls? It is today’s synodal church that has deprived and corrupted souls while tradition-minded Catholics are the ones saving them. And whoever said that the Church is an “isolated model” that harbors a “closed view of reality?”

The document goes on to say that attempting to convert others no longer makes sense.

“The defensive entrenchment in one’s own position and the view that proselytism is the only way to engage with the other [religions] no longer make sense in a world that increasingly resembles an interconnected and constantly evolving global village.” (54)

So Catholicism no longer makes sense? Who ever said that the world is supposed to be “interconnected” in the ways of man? The only genuine connectivity can come about through proselytism and the conversion of humanity to Catholicism. Note too, how the document feigns disgust over the evolution of a “global village” when in fact globalism is the very thing that Rome today is promoting.

Leo’s document says that we must build toward a “fraternal society capable of accepting differences,” but who ever said that we are called to accept the differences of heretics and LGBTQ activists who build towards their shameful fraternity?

Lest anyone miss the point, paragraph 58 of Leo’s document emphasizes that it is a ‘moral imperative’ to overcome our ‘prejudices’ against the religious beliefs of others: 

“In a world that is both profoundly interconnected and also deeply fragmented, the message of Nostra Aetate remains highly relevant. Fraternity among believers of different religious traditions is not merely an ideal, but a moral, spiritual, and social imperative.”

So it is “imperative” that we have fraternal unity with heretics? Were the popes and saints of history ‘prejudice’ because they shunned the company of unbelievers? Nay! Fraternity with the errant is not “a moral, spiritual, and social imperative” but shunning their errors most certainly is!

Paragraph 58 also says:

“Faced with contemporary challenges—religious extremism [Traditional Catholicism], global migration, secularization, and ecological and social crises—religions are called to transform the world and society.”

Unfortunately, secular religions do not have the grace or power to transform society because they are not of God. Only the Catholic Church can transform the world since it is the only religion of God.

Continuing,

“This commitment [to religious unity] necessarily involves a 2 renewed education in dialogue, especially among younger generations, to overcome fears and prejudices and to foster a genuine culture of encounter.”

Since when did Christ call for a “culture of encounter?” He calls us to have encounter with himself, not with the world. We are called to make our peace with God, not with the world.  

As Christ said, “Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.” (Mt. 10: 34,35) The calling of Christians is to stand apart from the world, not to join it. For as Christ is not of the world neither must his Church be of the world (John 8:23).

Leo claims that he welcomes all religious beliefs, but if this were true he would welcome the beliefs of Catholic Tradition, which he shuns as outdated. He says the Church must now have a “shift of mindset.”

Has Leo lost it?

1. While Nostra Aetate has lain in the Church’s archives for 60 years, those who signed off on it weren’t nearly as culpable as today’s Vatican officials since Rome for the first time has now used this document as a springboard to officially claim that interreligious dialogue takes precedence over Catholic teaching.
