Pope Francis: “Being Homosexual is not a Crime”

David Martin | The Daily Knight

He’s been called the “green pope,” the “political pope,” and the “Pachamama pope.” Is he now the “rainbow pope?”

Pope Francis has publicly voiced his support for homosexuality. In an interview with Associated Press (AP) on January 25, he said that “being homosexual is not a crime” and said that any laws that criminalize homosexuality are “unjust.”

Is he serious? It would make more sense to say that laws that criminalize rape are unjust since rape is not as serious as homosexuality.

He said that bishops who support laws against sodomy stand in need of conversion. “These bishops have to have a process of conversion,” he said.

That’s like saying that bishops who support laws against rape, theft, and arson demonstrate need for conversion, but we all know this is not true. Rape, theft, and sodomy are criminal acts worthy of punishment and to not criminalize them is what demonstrates need for conversion.

Laws against homosexuality, rape, and theft indeed are praiseworthy for the peace and goodness they promote, which is why they are blessed by God. By not supporting such laws one shows himself to be an enemy of God and a lover of crime.

Pontifical Confusion

In the interview Francis demonstrated his confusion by saying that homosexuality is ‘not a crime but a sin,’ but has he forgotten that sin is a crime? What can be a worse crime than to sin against the authority and goodness of God? Mortal sin, especially the sins of homosexuality and murder are criminal acts for which souls are punished eternally in the fires of hell.

Unfortunately, Francis doesn’t think with the Church or with the Savior who founded it. It is Francis who needs conversion, not the law abiding clergy of the Church. He needs to convert from his rebellious thinking and support the innocent and the humble, not the criminal LGBT sex-offenders who rape the young and pollute His Church. He needs to excommunicate clerical frauds like Fr. James Martin, the notorious homosexual whose work he praises, and he needs to stop appointing LGBT bishops to high positions in the Church just so they can spread their filth in the name of mercy.

Yea, Francis needs to repent and to remember that one cannot be pro-homosexual and be Catholic at the same time. He emphatically said in the past that laws should be enacted to protect the lifestyle of homosexuals – the terrible acts of indecency that cry to heaven for vengeance. Francis condones and respects this lifestyle and with two prongs from the mouth he tells gays that ‘God loves and accepts them as they are,’ but who ever told him this? Since when does God accept us as we are?

Has Francis considered the teaching of St. Paul?:

“Know you this and understand, that no fornicator, or unclean, or covetous person (which is a serving of idols), has inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." (Ephesians 5:5)

The Apostle refers to homosexuals as shameful men without mercy who “have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy” and goes on to say that “they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.” (Romans 1:27, 32)

Nay, God accepts us as we are when what we are is what He created us to be, namely, the dedicated sons and daughters of God who “fear God, and depart from evil.” (Proverbs 3:7)

But those who peddle sin in the name of mercy will be judged as deceivers. Francis needs to repent and clean house or lose it eternally.
