Consecration of Russia the Only Option Left for World Peace

David Martin | The Daily Knight

Until recently the Catholic hierarchy had given little importance to the Blessed Virgin’s directive at Fatima that Russia be consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart so that world peace can ensue. Most of the bishops have insisted that the Consecration is already done while others have accused the proponents of the Consecration of engaging in ‘wishful magic’ while still others have been duped with the idea that the Consecration doesn’t apply to our time on the grounds that the Era of Peace promised by Our Lady has already arrived. Generally, the Church in our time has been absorbed with worldly mirth and not with God’s holy will that Russia be consecrated to the Virgin Mary.

Whereas in the wake of Russia’s brutal invasion of the Ukraine and menacing threats to any country that interferes with this, the pope and bishops apparently have come to acknowledge that the only recourse left to us for peace is to follow through with Our Lady’s directive at Fatima to consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart.

Pope to Consecrate Russia on March 25

On March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation, Pope Francis will unite with the bishops of the world to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Vatican confirmed the news on March 18, with Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office, stating:

“I confirm that Pope Francis has invited the bishops of the whole world and their presbyters to join him in praying for peace and in consecrating and entrusting Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The occasion, as indicated in recent days, will be the Celebration of Penance, scheduled at 5pm on Friday 25 March, the Feast of the Annunciation, in St Peter’s Basilica.”

The previous day, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States addressed USCCB President Archbishop José Gomez with a letter in which he was given formal notice about the upcoming papal Consecration of Russia and Ukraine. Therein he said:

“The Holy Father intends to invite each Bishop, or equivalent in law, together with his priests, to join in this act of consecration, if possible, at an hour corresponding to 5pm Rome time.”

False Claim Put to Shame

The Vatican announcement puts to shame the erroneous claim that the Consecration of Russia has already been done. The pope’s initiative marks the first time in 105 years that any action has been taken by Rome to do the papal Consecration of Russia in union with all the bishops as requested by Our Lady at Fatima.

Thankfully, Pope Francis is now seeing the light about the need to consecrate Russia. With World War III looming on the horizon it appears that a spirit of repentance is moving the pope and bishops. For the first time in decades it has dawned on them that Russia has been play-acting and building its armaments for war while the West has been asleep crying “peace” with rose-colored glasses.

The Blessed Virgin at Fatima asked that Russia be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart, warning that without this act of Consecration Russia would grow into a tyrannical beast that would later emerge and turn on the Christian free world. She said that Russia’s aggression would continue unto the ‘annihilation of nations.’

Our Lady told Fatima seer Sr. Lucia dos Santos during the Fatima apparition of July 13, 1917:

“… I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”

On June 13, 1929, while Sr. Lucy was at prayer in the convent chapel at Tuy, Spain, Our Lady appeared to her and repeated this request for the Consecration of Russia.

“The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father to make, and to order that in union with him and at the same time, all the bishops of the world make the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to convert it because of this day of prayer and worldwide reparation.”

Is It Too Late for the Consecration?

Failure to consecrate Russia is what has brought the world to the threshold of annihilation as Russia now cranks up plans for WWIII. If only the Consecration of Russia had been done thirty or forty years ago! Is it too late for the Consecration? Prophecy had it that the Consecration would be done late so it could be that the Consecration at this point will serve more to mitigate than to avert the outbreak of war.

On the flip side, “all things are possible” with God. It is encouraging to see that the pope and bishops are putting considerable stock in the Consecration and have agreed to do it in accord with Our Lady’s wishes at Fatima. It is plausible that the Consecration could still neutralize this diabolical force of Communist Russia and bring about an Era of Peace without our having to endure the rigors of nuclear war.

Even so, there is due penance to be done for the Church’s past negligence and sins – especially the rampant profanation of the Church since Vatican II – so we should be ready to endure whatever God sends us, e.g. plagues, economic woes, revolutions, etc., and to understand that these trials will be wholesome penance to help bring about God’s plan of conversion through the Consecration.

Light at the End of the Tunnel

What we need to remember is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The Consecration of Russia will mark a turning point for the better since it will begin to neutralize this diabolical force of Communist Russia that has been generating the present evils throughout the world, i.e. the race-riots, the draconian lockdowns, the invasion of the Ukraine. King Putin may be holding the world in checkmate right now but Queen Mary has thankfully come along to knock the dark knight off the geopolitical chessboard so that better days can ensue.

Deo Gratias that Rome has acted to elicit some fighting help from Heaven!
