Viganò Summoned to Rome to Answer for “Schism”
David Martin | The Daily Knight
In a social media post of June 20, 2024, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, former papal nuncio to the United States and outspoken critic of Pope Francis, announced that he has been summoned to the Vatican to answer to charges of having committed the crime of schism.
The Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, led by the infamous and schismatic LGBT advocate Cardinal Victor Fernandez, asked that the prelate present himself for an abbreviated canonical criminal trial accompanied by a legal representative.
Rome’s charge against Viganò is that he has denied the legitimacy of Francis’ election and has opposed Francis’ teachings, but this only acquits Viganò because Francis’ teachings are heretical. Fernandez is simply using his farcical position as Rome’s 'doctrinal chief’ to empower wickedness and persecute the innocent, but Viganò with clear conscience sees through this.
In his post on Exsurge Domine, Archbishop Viganò said:
“The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has informed me, with a simple email, of the initiation of an extrajudicial penal trial against me, with the accusation of having committed the crime of schism and charging me of having denied the legitimacy of “Pope Francis” of having broken communion “with Him” and of having rejected the Second Vatican Council. I have been summoned to the Palace of the Holy Office on June 20, in person or [by being] represented by a canon lawyer. I assume that the sentence has already been prepared, given that it is an extrajudicial process.
“I regard the accusations against me as an honor. I believe that the very wording of the charges confirms the theses that I have repeatedly defended in my various addresses. It is no coincidence that the accusation against me concerns the questioning of the legitimacy of Jorge Mario Bergoglio and the rejection of Vatican II: the Council represents the ideological, theological, moral, and liturgical cancer of which the Bergoglian “synodal church” is the necessary metastasis.”
Vatican II indeed was an illicit council, which Francis personifies. He and Fernandez are using their “legal” positions to castigate the critics of Vatican II but their bureaucratic highchairs are not recognized On High. God is not legalistic but is simply legal, being the Author of all Law who commands that we honor mercy and justice and not dignify the pranks of modern-day Pharisees who are out to smear the Church under the guise of legitimacy.
It is Fernandez and his pontifical crony who are in schism, whereas Viganò has simply separated himself from the new globalist church of man—a move that deserves praise and not punishment.
Using the Papacy to Undermine the Papacy
One of Vigano’s key charges against Francis has been his abuse of Church authority to undermine Church authority. Responding to Rome’s accusations against him, Viganò stressed his desire to “repudiate, reject, and condemn the scandals, errors, and heresies of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who manifests an absolutely tyrannical management of power, exercised against the purpose that legitimizes authority in the Church: an authority that is vicarious of that of Christ, and as such must obey Him alone.”
Vigano’s repudiation of Francis is just since Francis insults God with his indigenous idol worship and his constant apologizing for the Faith. He has said that ‘the adherents to Catholic tradition are suicidal, idolatrous, and rigid,’ that ‘it’s OK to laugh at God,’ that ‘homosexual living should be protected by the law,’ and that ‘the Church should bless homosexual relations.’ He said that “it is the Communists who think like Christians” and that the underground Church in China should hold its peace and ‘learn to obey their Communist masters.’
And yes, Francis’ elevation to the Chair of Peter was illicit. It set in motion the most corrupt “pontificate” of Church history, which only vindicates Viganò. What we are witnessing is persecution from today’s secular counter-church in keeping with Christ’s words to his disciples: “If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.” (John 15:18)
If Vigano’s fidelity to the Faith is what makes one “schismatic” then schism is a good thing. Summoning Viganò to the Vatican to answer for crimes of schism makes as much sense as Hitler summoning a pro-lifer to Germany to answer for crimes against life. God forbid that any Catholic should take the Vatican’s charge seriously!
Viganò May Have More Ammunition up his Sleeve
The Archbishop may have forensic evidence up his sleeve to put Rome to shame so Rome better tread carefully. Francis has 150 credibly accused “abuse” bishops running loose in the Church who know of his abuse crimes, and he will not charge any of them because he knows that they, like ex-cardinal McCarrick, know what an abuser he is also. He knows they will fink on him!
Rome is getting nervous that Viganò may say more on this while he remains in good legal standing with Rome, so it appears they want to dump and discredit him as soon as they can.
However, the Vatican is wrong in its accusation of Archbishop Viganò. Human envy has motivated this action, which in turn could open a can of worms to expose their own corruption. It remains to be seen what Rome’s verdict will be but this developing case against Viganò could turn out to have a silver lining to it.
