Attacking Christopher Columbus is a continued persecution of the Mystical Body of Christ

Christopher Columbus statues vandalized or torn down around the United States by rioters and local governments, this one in Minnesota (Times of India)

The violence against Christopher Columbus has returned during the Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots. Like in 2017, Columbus statues are vandalized, defaced, and torn down by Marxist militants and rioters from America's political and social left. Pray that the malicious vandalism doesn't bleed over to other Catholic and Saint statues, as is did three years ago.

Unfortunately, these decedents of Barabbas have already attacked Catholic Churches and Cathedrals in major cities from coast to coast. "By their fruits you shall know them," (Matthew 7:16) and it is clear that this rabble is not with Christ.

What does Christopher Columbus have to do with police brutality and systemic racism in law enforcement? Nothing. Columbus is attacked for being a Catholic, European, White Male.

"Saul, why persecutest thou me?" (Acts 9:9) are the words that Christ spoke to St. Paul on the road to Damascus. The Christians who Paul, then Saul, was persecuting, were members of the Mystical Body of Christ. We, as baptized Catholics with the mark of the Holy Trinity and receivers of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist, are members of His Mystical Body in the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. An attack against Christopher Columbus is a continuation of the world's persecution of Christ.

For years, the left has spread lies that Columbus is responsible for bringing genocide, war, and slavery to the New World. Liberal media, universities, and political organizations have painted that false narrative. Did those terrible events exists in Europe, Africa, and Asia? Yes, and they also existed in the Americas before Columbus.

Since the Fall of Man, the human condition has failed before temptation, especially those from the world to embrace and exert power over others. No one disputes that atrocities followed Columbus, but he cannot be held accountable for the actions of other men; just like other Black men can't be held accountable for the crimes of other men and all Police Officers for the murder of George Floyd.

The true narrative is that Christopher Columbus dedicated his voyages to the Immaculate Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and consecrated the New World to the Holy Savior (San Salvador), our Lord Jesus Christ. As a Third Order Franciscan, Columbus brought priests and missionaries as members of his ventures to spread the Faith and to save souls. Columbus' first order of business was to glorify God, not man.

The attacks against Christopher Columbus, for the most part, are promoted and committed out of ignorance, but there are ulterior motives from Marxist organizations and secret societies to eradicate Christian virtue from society.

The Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is the only institution that possesses the faculties required to project Christ's kingdom on Earth. Christendom was built by society's embrace of Christian virtues and sovereigns' partnerships with the Church to cooperate with divine order. Columbus was and remains a representative of Christendom, hence why Christ's enemies are fixated on removing him. Columbus' removal would be one less memorial of Christian society.

Our enemies continue to persecute us and Catholics lack solidarity. Where are the Knights of Columbus during these attacks? Where are our Bishops and priests during this period of tribulation? Where are good Catholic men to help defend our statues and Churches?

In Christ Crucified and the Most Victorious Heart of Jesus.
